Furniture is something that many of us take for granted; however, for individuals and families who are struggling financially and cannot afford basic necessities, having access to affordable (or in some cases free) furniture can have positive life changing effect.
Over the years toogoodtowaste has played an important role in helping to rebuild the lives, livelihoods and homes of hundreds of individuals and families by redistributing essential household items to local homes. We have a number of services in place to help people on a low income:
- Customers in receipt of a qualifying benefit* can select from our "discounted furniture packages which includes delivery. For example our start up pack.
toogoodtowaste distributes free furniture packages to 16-18 year-olds who cannot afford new furniture and have been refused financial help. Supported by BBC Children in Need our “Sorted” package is designed to give younger people a better start in life.
- Crisis situations can arise for anyone at any time. On many occasions, we have responded to a crisis in the community such as fires, floods, severe weather conditions etc. By using our resources to replace damaged furniture in affected households. We are keen to continue adapting our services to accommodate more people in need who will benefit from our support.
Whatever the reason, we aim to provide good quality household goods that best match the needs of individuals and families experiencing a crisis.
